hey guys just discovered my digital thermometer was off this whole time.. it was about 8 degrees off ! i purchased a glass thermometer but i really like seeing the numbers on a screen at all time so i was wondering if anyone has suggestions for an accurate thermometer you may be using? i know theres those ones with a metal probe but i enjoy the idea of leaving one in and getting live numbers 24/7 ! any suggestions?

I use an Inkbird and 2 lifeguard thermometers in my system.
I recently hooked up my ink306a. I also ran a lifeguard prior. They differ by two degrees. Which one would you trust more? What's the best way to confirm temperature?

I use 3 devices and they agree. Do you have a digital cooking thermometer?
Also the inkbird can be calibrated. If you tank has done well at the temp the other controller ran at just make them agree.

I have not used a controller until I got the ink bird. Just an eheim heater and a thermometer to monitor. The tank was running at 79 now has crept up to 82 according to the thermometer. But when I plugged in the ink bird it says 80. The eheim heater is set way lower cuz it's old and never seemed correct. I will check with a coming one. When the wife isn't looking of course lol

As anything between 77-80 will work I never worried over the exact number. Just that it stays relatively the same.
I have 2 tanks in one room and 900 watts of heaters on the Inkbird in the fish room. I also have MH light on the 240.
So the big tank heats the system in the daytime and at night the sump heats the system. But they all stay within a few tenths of a degree of each other most of the time.
