These white specs. Almost circular/spiral in shape and very tiny. All over my live rock and spreading to my new rock that I put in. I have about a dozen snails in the tank. They don’t come off and are almost like a calcified deposit. I HATE THEM! What are they exactly and how do I get rid of them?

Spirorbid worms. How much are you feeding? They generally self regulate with how much excess food is available.

Tank full of tangs so I’m feeding twice a day. Nitrates running about 5-10ish so there’s no over feeding.

Well that is not true.. Just because your tangs are eating all the food ,And they will. Is is more food then they need. The more they need the more waste they will produce. The more waste they produce the more source of nutrient provided for other things in the tank to consume. Your Nutrient test are testing end of the line nutrient build up.. .

You can limit them by feeding less. Adding something after the tangs in the cycle Such as algae in sump, Turf scrubber to Compete with the worms for nutrient..

They cause no harm by the way.. Some get sponges (me) some get Algae some get spirobid worms . of course there are others .. Hope this helps make more sense of it..

Nutrient levels are often low on tanks full of green algae the Algae is happy to help consume them...

Just my Thoughts..

@Crabs Mcjones is correct, they will self regulate depending on food available. They are harmless, but their numbers can get to plague proportions.

What are you feeding your tangs?

They get several small sheets of JS Sea Veggies throughout the day and one feeding of Reef Frenzy at night and all food is consumed within 2 minutes. The only additional measure I could take is to drain the frozen food before feeding.

i have found feeding them Nori (I get from meijer) Is better .. I also stopped using the Frozen food cubes and feed them mysis from the frozen packages.. not the cubes...

I only feed them the nori 3 times a week .. reef frenzy maybe 3 times a month but my tank has soft corals.. the reef frenzy is likely what is feeding your worm population
