I have had this tank for years, and never seen these. Tonight they are zipping all around my tank and crawling on the glass. A few dozen in a 55g mixed reef. Any ideas? Am i in trouble? Thanks for the help!

Also, these little mounds of grey sand have been appearing recently in one area. It looks like a doodlebug mound, if that helps anyone. Really hard pic to get but here’s a couple. I don’t know if these are related or not.

Do you have anything (like wrasse or mandarin) that eats them? Time to time their population explodes. It should fix itself,
 
Great, good to know! I don’t as of now, building into a 75g before any other livestock is added. I’ll take the pods as a good sign. Thanks!
 
I think that the ones in my tank are thinner with shorter legs but very similar front claws. So I’m assuming some variation of isopod is what we have.
