mine is fine in a 54 corner and gets a long with all my other fish. there as mean as people say. that just the nature of the tangs!!!

My yellow tang is the boss of the tank and keeps everyone in check including my purple tang! Don't see much aggression from my purple at all.

I keep a blue hippo, a yellow tang and a queen angel in my 8gallon i just put a mp40 at full blast so they constantly swim into the current like an overweight person in one of those jacuzzi/swimming pools

Yellow, purple and blue tang..... With a yellow eye kole tang. They never ever fight.

My purple tang is mean but not evil. My last larger purple was meaner. I also have a Sohal, he's not that bad unless someone picks on him. My powder blues tried and one got slashed up pretty nicely. He minds his own if he is left alone though.

Of my tangs and in my experience, powder blues are the meanest hands down. My Sohal isn't so bad, I've also had several Achilles tangs that were very mild but one that is nasty to other Acantharus tangs. I would say though that of my tangs, my purple is the second most aggressive to both of my powder blues.

I have:
2x Achilles
Chevron juv
2x powder blue
Powder brown
Yellow belly hippo
Sohal
Purple
Desjardini Sailfin
Yellow
Blonde naso

I've also kept clown tangs and Atlantic blue tangs. Both moderately aggressive. I've had kole tangs for up to a year also, not sure why I struggle with them but they were mild.

My powder blues pick on any new tang until they establish a pecking order. My Sohal quickly showed them who is boss, so too did the purple.

Of all tangs I've had, chevron seem the mildest. My blonde naso tangs over the years would be second, and my hippo and yellow belly hippos third, followed by Achilles. (With the exception of the larger of my two he's pretty nasty).

I've had some very mild yellow tangs also, which goes against what I read on here.
