I don't know a lot about blastos other than they are cool and colorful. I have two blasto mini colonies and I was wondering if they were the same species of blasto because there are some differences. The overall shape is different in the larger one (more irregular), there is a huge size difference in the polyps, the mouths are different (the larger on has a raised mouth while the smaller one has just a green line), the shape of the skirt is different in the two (the larger one has more full skirt that goes a lot deeper into the polyp and has some little tentacle things on it I don't see so much on the smaller polyps skirt). The color intensity is different two, the larger polyp's blue center is so bright it is difficult to focus on it with my phone camera :) Below is a pic

What is the one on the left called? Is it named? Ive been looking for a piece just like it.

It does not have a name, it is just a colony I was able to get. It is really nice, I got the other colony thinking it would compliment it but the one on the left still just over powers it. It is one of the nicest blastos I've seen (why I bought it), I've seen a good bit at fish stores but only have bought these two mini colonies. I know they both grow SUPER slow, I'm guessing all blastos do since colonies are rather expensive.

Another difference is the smaller polyped one on the right has very flat polyps while the larger one has very round polyps. The large each one has about four polyps on it, but the left one's polyps are double to three times the size of the ones on the right. You can only see one large polyp and a baby of the left one in the photo. They might be the same or not, I don't know much about these corals. I can try and get a better top down type shot tomorrow,
