I set my tank up about 2 months ago and its coming along real slow! I have no idea what these spots are and if they are harmfull or not? I have 20 + years doing a reef but took the last 6 years off so my brain has cobwebs real bad! I bought a RedSea max 650 and frankly cant get it running right! Any help with that would also be greatly appreciated! I live in Clovis,California! Thanks everyone....

The white spots are more than likely small feather dusters. I assume that they are a hard calcium base, nothing to worry about. Just be careful of how you scape them off the glass so as not to scratch the glass.

Hi and welcome.

Those are Spirorbid worms, harmless. The numbers will probably die back to some degree as the tank ages.

From the images the tank looks like it's coming along. Since you have experience in the hobby you know slow and steady wins the race. A 2 month old tank is still in it's infancy.

Are there are specific issues that are concerning you?

I LOVE those worms :D
It means youre doing something good!
I let them build on anything except the front and left/right side of my tank because it looks bad. Back of the tank, and anywhere else is free reign.

I have a trochus snail that you cant even tell what color it is anymore because theres so many on it lol

Oh, I use a semi sharp blade to remove them from the glass.

Same here. Back glass is loaded with them.
