Some big ole snails 2$ just gunna keep them long enough to cut the grass and do a little yard work! I'm sure they can't wait to get stuck and die somewhere... uge

Um, I would keep them permanently. They should be a regular resident in your reef tank as a part of your CUC. They do sometimes die but are, generally, a necessity in all reef tanks.

The lfs guy said use them as I explained then bring them back to trade for others when I want i may keep one , I've lost them before from getting stuck and the smaller ones make less of a bull in a China shop effect. Tank is SAFE SPACE and snails are happy and eating, no cruelty here

@HuduVudu No need to be judgmental. I see nothing indicating cruelty in the OP's statements anywhere. If you could point out one statement of cruelty, I would back you, but, IMHO, you are out of line.

Hey its all coooool, we all love are snails n such. I can't believe how fast these guys are working, ill need to get rid of a few just because they won't have any food! I'm happy to use them for a few days and bring 3/4 back and get a few reasonable sized ones, someone else can use them that way and they won't starve, which would be cruel indeed..no thats not bad red

Seriously though what are you basing cruel on? Him mentioning them getting stuck and dying? You never have a snail die?

Buying creatures to remove something from the tank and then not caring about whether those creatures live or die is cruel. I don't understand how anyone that isn't a psychopath wouldn't see that.

My sister got a cat when she didn't have a boyfriend. She doted on it and loved it. Then she got a boyfriend and put it outside and forgot about it because she had a boyfriend. You can't say to me that this isn't a cruel thing to do.

All of the creatures in our aquariums are under our care, big and small. Things die, it is part of this hobby. Making that situation worse and causing the death or being callous to it's happening is cruel. Whether you want to believe it or not.

Did you look at the picture?

If the habitat isn't suitable then don't put the creature in the tank.

Yes I have had snails die. Strangely for you, none have ever died by getting stuck in the rocks.

Nope I just think there's a few misunderstandings going on no big deal.. they are loving it tons of short soft grass for them to enjoy, I have a giant pasture on the back glass the can graze on for a few days, but they are massive and one is already getting under a cave dead end spot...not dead end, like "Thats it thats the end of him, he's dead!" LOL but any way everyone love everyone!

Its only been 2 hrs i cant believe how fast these guys work! They were in algae infested tanks but they like that fresh soft short stuff I got...not for long!

Still don't see anywhere in your explanation nor in the OP that would correlate to cruelty or warrant your assertions.
