So, my tank is around 6 months old now and I have this Thicker Brown algae growing on my rocks and the side of the tank, and it seems that is not going away. Also, when I scrape it off it sometimes falls and clumps up in my sand. Anyone have any idea what it is and any recommendations?

Focus and purple color makes it difficult to ID. I will guess some sort of filamentous algae (“hair algae“) and possibly, it is coated with diatoms or dinoflagellates.
