I have this squishy sponge type thing growing in the base of this zoa frag. It's covering most of the rock the zoas are on, it's a reddish orange color. I was about to pop it off the plug and onto rock when I noticed this.

Is it something I should remove before I mount the zoas or let it ride?

Just looks like algae/bacteria.
