Things dropped in a tank

As a kid I carved a fish out of a bar of soap. Then when I started my tank in the 70s, I hung the "fish" over the tank. One day I couldn't find that "fish". But the tank was full of suds.

I've dropped several flashlights in (turns out they're pretty water resistant) and my last phone went for a swim while taking pictures.

A brand spanking new LED light fixture dropped right into my tank. The light was toasted, but my fish and corals didn't die.

Grabbed the wrong bottle one morning doing water change before i had coffee and added two cap fulls of dog flea and tick shampoo right into my pump chamber. Oddly didnt hurt anything cept a huge bristle worm that floated to the top

Anything Die?

I am always paranoid about not getting all soap washed off my hands.

Nothing died, but all the fish had a nice fresh "Irish Spring" smell

Great thread....................... but as always I like to see pics or it didn't happen!! :p

My wedding band went missing for three weeks until I was cleaning my sandbed and found it. I have no clue how it slipped off my finger into the tank! Lol

So Soap is not bad if it gets into the aquarium?

Has anybody else had any Soap Experiences either Positive or Negative?
