Hey guys, So im setting up brandons tank at a school and have reluctantly decided to set it up freshwater. I know it sucks. But i am at least planning to leave the halide and have it as a planted tank. First off i am needing a return pump, preferably a mag drive 7 or 9, or comparable pump. I am still needing a sump. Also if anyone has a planted tank that wants to sell clippings i will need to stock some plants in the tank as well. Send me a pm with prices
thanks

Bryan, can you ask the school if they can provide paperwork for tax deductible donations? I'd be willing to "chip in" with some cash to purchase some things for the school. And fresh water is going to be so much easier for you (if you are going to take care of it). When you get ready to add fish, let's hit up Kierl for some donations of fish (maybe donate money to the school and he'll give them a special deal on fish?).
Susan

Hey Susan, I am working on setting up a fowler tank now! Yippy. I can always switch it back to freshwater if it doesnt do well as a saltwater. Yes anyone who wants to donate to this can and I can get the donation receipts. It is a christian school and this tank will be in the middle school and also will be used for high school biology and chemistry. I got a sump donated so i am pretty close on equipment. I will be needing help purchasing substrate, and fish. maybe some extra liverock if anyone has extra. I have a good bit myself so might not need any liverock.

Hey Bryan let me know what you need. I do have a 40lb bag of sand brand new and a half of a bag if you want it. I also have a ton of the sand from my old tank that is dried out if you want that too. I also have a few pieces of rock if you need it. Smaller pieces and they need to be cycled.

Hm, I might have some medium sized pieces in my sump, but that wouldn't be enough to cycle on, I don't think. And they've been mostly in the dark. Tommy had some rock for sale at $3 a pound.

Either way, you'll still have to cycle, right? Unless we all put in a live rock, some live sand and bring over some of our tank water? I guess that would be a possibility..... I could load up 10 or 15 gallons from a water change (but would you want that)?

i Have plenty of live rock as far as the cycle goes, just dont know if i have enough for a rock structure. So i may take yall up on some dry rock, i probly would only need 3 or 4 decent football size pieces (preferable cavey pourous pieces) I could definatly use some substrate dave, is it sand or special reef grade? im not wanting to do fine sand. thanks for the offers guys and gal

It's the reef grade sand. It's what Brandon was using. The new and the old stuff I have are all the same.

I can provide you with some cycled water too, just let me know when/if you want/need it. Thats about all I have got.......

hey dave, Im definatly interested in the new sand, PM me what you want for it, and how much you have. Im not sure if i want to use dead sand at the moment cause it may leach phosphate and this system wont have a good way to remove it. i could come by this weekend

I would offer a tax receipt but being a preacher im sure you write yourself plenty to avoid taxes all together! LOL! JK!
