what is this in my sandbed?

need a clearer pic in white light. This could just be diatoms or cyano that have trapped some air

either way it doesnt really matter because you can just scoop up a little gravel around it and throw the whole thing out. If it feels semi hard (do this outside of the tank) then it is definitely bubble algae, if not it is some other algae/bacteria trapping air

Agree- scoop and discard and gone

For future, please post pics under white lighting for better assessment and clarity

thanks guys I see some more little things that look like this. I believe probably bubble algae. Maybe I will see if vibrant works. I am about to vacuum it mostly out though. Thinking I vacuum and then dose vibrant.

Don't dose vibrant unless it is absolutely necessary and there arent corals/inverts in there yet. I have seen too many people post about how vibrant caused more issues than actually helped the situation

just make sure to do some research before using it. Here is one link on the forum, but there is a lot out there so do some digging.

Vibrant is an alternative and not a solution and may or may not eradicate this But will cause other issues. This stuff where its locaed is too easy to eradicate and you can add 1-2 pitho crabs to also work on it, reduce white light intensity and assure Phos is not elevated

I haven't seen any on the rock, there is no telling. I did a waterchange just now for my main schedule. This time I vacuumed it out of the sand, or so I hope. Maybe I've put it at bay for now. I have already made my trip to the lfs and it's pretty far away. I also don't want to spend 30 or so dollars fkr shipping on an 8 dollar crab. At anyratr I'll be looking to try and keep it at bay until I get a crab.
