Think I’m stumped...

So I purchased a zoa frag today (10-15 polyps). On it was a weird worm thing. The worm moved independently and retracted. It is too small for a photo, here is a description.

Color: clear-ish gray( almost like a bleached BTA color)

length: 1-1.5 inch
width: 1/2 mm

it looks like a tentacle and has a little bulb at the end.


What could it be. If you need any more questions, I can answer them. Figured this is a good start.

Since you say it looks like it has a bulb at the end, reminds me of a peanut worm.

The bulb is different, the worm is more of a straight line with a sphere at the end.

Sounds like a feather duster or a bulb/ball/glass anenome.

However without a pic it's just a guessing game!

yes, they can sway in the current and change their extended length back and forth, or sometimes they even have this motion like a fly fishermans lure almost. hard to explain but you know it when you see it.

It is not fuzzy like a digitate hydroid. It also seems to only come out at night. This makes it even harder to get a pic. I'll try tonight!
