Think I may need a better skimmer..

So i skimped out and got a cheaper skimmer when setting up my 80 gal w/ sump(Total water volume is 95). It does work seem to work, its producing skim mate. But I think the bio load may be more than it can handle. I used to have to drain and clean the cup every week now its been like 2-3 weeks and barely gone up in level in the cup(ive fiddled with settings no change). Plus the skimmer has gotten fairly loud which has just become and annoyance more than anything. So what can you recommend from experience on a well working quiet skimmer. I am not looking to buy the most expensive one but one that will do the job well kinda middle of the road. Any input would be great. TIA

only restriction would be height if skimmer was super tall. 8" of water in sump.

Its quiet. Comes with a Sicce pump. Does a great job. Not extremely tall with a small foot print. Its sexy looking.

Check out reef octopus classic 150INT. I had one and I did not have any problems. You can see the reviews online that it’s still going after many years and very reliable. It’s rated up to 150g.

Seaclones are garbage. Any decent brand or cone design with a needle wheel pump will do the job very well. I love reef octopus

I owned a Seaclone years ago, and while I don't like to bad-mouth companies, it was not good. There are lots of good skimmers out there, my Reef Octopus is miles better.
