When dose this addiction end , today I drove 15+ hours round trip 2 states away to purchase my new "used" 225g reef setup from Craig's list . Tagging along with my rented uhaul enclosed trailer and rented suction glass movers I traveled from northern Ohio to Illinois to purchase my future reef tank setup with all the trimmings . Due to the fact that I am so deeply hooked into this hobby that my thriving 135g reef tank is just simply not enough , away I go to get my next tank .

One would think that the fact that my frag racks are full and that fed ex will be dropping off my new bubble gum digi at 9am would be enough to feed the fix but no no, I still drive for more ! Is this the end I ask ? Will this feed the fix ? Obviously as most our impulse brains work paying under $1000 for a star fire peninsula 225 complete setup in witch the $2500 skimmer included covers the total cost of the whole system
Purchased is just a no brainer along with MH , calc reactor ,200lbs live rock and well a uhaul trailer and pick up truck full of future reef gadgets .
Is this it , will this fill the void ? I hope so , maybe someone deeper in than me can predict the future for me ."or sit in on my intervention "

It will till that 340 gallon comes along, you know the eurobraced one... :D

Hey, I feel ya. On top of the three tanks I have already, I just drove 80 Miles round trip to buy a 30 gal frag tank setup, that a member on another forum was selling. You should have seen the look on everyone's face,(wife and two daughters) when I carried this in the house. I think, that they thought, I needed the intervention. Its a addiction!! Oh, and I have to go pick up some more frags, from another member tonight.

I used to say this hobby was cheaper than drugs...not anymore...lol. At least it doesn't wreck your health and, if you get your significant other involved, it doesn't destroy relationships. That being said, our kids just roll their eyes and say "here we go again" when my husband and I start talking reef.

When your three year old granddaughter stands in front of your tank and just stares with that look of complete wonder and then starts asking questions, it's worth every penny.

The best part was when the seller "a fellow r2r member " gazing in the back of the uhaul trailer packed full says wow that's a lot of stuff for $900 lol . Love finding a crazy good deal !

Sorry One tire no help here. What kinda cool stuff did Ya get with the new tank ?

A laundry list but
225 gallon reef tank 72Lx30Wx25T, Eurobraced, starfire glass on 3 sides peninsula style; 3 250-watt reef optics metal halides with blue wave power supplies; 2 Tunze 6105; Tunze multi-control model 7095; Euroreef 500 recirc skimmer; Geo 618 calcium reactor; 200 gallon per day RO-DI; Corralife 1200 gallon/minute 1270 model circulating pump; 2 Geo media reactors; 75 gallon sump with refuge with LED lighting; miscellaneous heaters and pumps; custom built stand and boxes with everything from nets to food ....... SCORE!!!

if we didn't do this we would spend our money on worthwhile things like lowering credit card debt, paying for our kids college, recreational drugs, decreasing our mortgages, buying a better bed, painting the house, drive a nicer car, put more into our 401k, new wardrobe, better sheets, organic foods, and the list goes on. some people want to be financially punished and reef keepers are certainly one of them. the few minutes of peace we get from observing all the colors and challenges are worth all the sacrifices. just sayin...
