I have too many mushrooms in my tank and want to remove some. Think if I put a power head in with a hose pointed at some shrooms that they will get agitated and let go so I can scoop them out?

That is great news. They are killing some of my corals and I don't want to cover my rocks with putty. Thanks.

Let us know if it worked for you. Tell us the problems you run into. Try to take a video of a mushroom comming off with this technique.

Might try and start today. It works for anemones so why not mushrooms. Tried to starve them out with an extra clean tank but that only fueled their reproduction. I also decreased their numbers and size once when carbon dosing but it is not working this time.

I removed 200shrooms with a steak knife from the reef in my avatar and the rock was scored heavily in the process it looked like battle

Then coralline took back over the stab and pry spots

I know of no better or more thorough way to control any anchored invasion. tons of threads show alt means without using a steak knife, it’s just hard to find actual cure posts in those threads. lots of other ways exist if screwdriver/knife tip digging sounds harsh

It removes all pedal flesh and the chunk of surface it rode in on.

If you want to not play around, and be free of shrooms by Sunday that’s an option. Lift out target rocks and score off the invader externally by sheer will.

That would work but I have a lot of rock in my 75. I started just removing andet dry out rock that do not have corals on them. Still need to power wash them before adding back to tank.

Took me three hours to do a gallon

75 ouch but you all get the good fish so it’s a worthy trade off for all the extra space to farm somehow

I did try things like the majano wand off amazon etc, it all had to arrive at knifing

This vase had coaxed a true fringing reef line at the top, circling the entire neck 360 and the evils had stung it all out, that contributed as well to a counter move directly on them. That ring bommie took seven years to complete it was 100% internally produced mass but gone now.

Very cool aquarium. It is sad when something goes wrong. My mushrooms were not a problem for 10 years then al of a sudden they thought the tank should be theirs and their growth accellerated.

peroxide causes pedal division reproduction in mushrooms via stress

I was using my tank as a peroxide testbed for years and years, then that above as a coincidence happened. alas, what if Id had a bounce mushroom problem?

ps, if anyone uses my method of peroxide stressing to quintuple bounce mushroom fragmentation, I heartily would like a clipping of your best mailed to me as a little side cut of that $ madness you w be taking in.

Did you ever got to try this method? Did it work?

The only thing that worked for me was pulling a rock out and letting it dry, scrub it then and put back in the tank and then pull another... It worked very well. Good luck.
