Thinking about a six line

People in this club will speak of a six-line as if they are the devil and very aggressive which makes me laugh because I've owned 2 and they were not aggressive at all. Not saying I don't believe what they say... Just speaking from my own experience. The one I have currently cruises in and out of the rock 24/7, constantly on the move. Comes out of the rock completely from time to time especially at feeding time. It adds movement to the tank is cool to watch it swim in and out of all the rocks. I would recommend one to anyone as my experience with them has been great!

Question is have u added small fish to ur tank after the sixline? They arnt really aggressive untill they get established and usually only to new commers. But when they do get aggressive its relentless till the fish dies. If Ryans sixline isnt attackin new fish id say thats a great exeption. Look around the net at other forums they are just like damsels. Maybe not all are evil but 90%+ are

My stock list at the moment is a YWG, 2x clownfish, longnose hawk, and a six line, (I'm gearing up for my upgrade to a 55G), and i currently only have the Watchman, my firefish, and single clown are in my nano right now

I've added a diamond goby about 3 months ago and 2 purple firefish a week or so ago and then Six-line has been in there for roughly a year and the six-line and the firefish sleep in the same cave! Maybe I do have the "exception" and have gotten lucky twice but it's still really hard for me to fathom that these fish are considered aggressive!

I agree that these guys get a really bad rap. I've added many of these to many different kinds of systems and 90% of the time they work out fine. Maybe it's when and how I add them. Don't get me wrong, I have seen them act aggressive, and there are instances where I have had to remove them for pestering a certain fish, but I would never consider the species too aggressive for the average aquarium.

Understood G. Not bashing anyone as I appreciate everyone's knowledge and experience. I'm just letting the cheese know my view point.
Good point about male vs female. Not sure how to sex a six line...

All I know is my sixline was a model citizen. I added several tangs, and a goby without issue. Then I added a fish similar in size and he decides to aggressively attack it.

Then you have a good one Ryan. I to love the six line. He was one of my g favorite but didn't work out in my tank. He was actually one of the first fish i added. They have tons of personality
