I'm interested in adding a toadstool to my 55g. What varieties should I look for or stay way from? . Average pricing scale? Sources? Thanks

Toadstools are hearty and rewarding... There are very few that you can go wrong with. It just all depends on what you want. I'd have to say that the neon greens are our favorites followed up by the long tentacles.

green fancy my fav, ;)

I’ve got two of em myself! The little one is Aussie and the big one was a Craigslist rescue. Nursed it back to health! Definitely a hardy coral, and it looks great! Adds a lot of color and movement to the tank

Agree can't go wrong with a toadstool. They get big so give it about 12 inches. It deffenty can be a show piece.

Easy , colorful and hardy specimen. Moderate light and water flow. They do shed and will look horrible when shedding

I already have a neon green sinulara, and purple kenya. Doesn't need to glow, interesting movement/shape may more of my interest. Any chance clowns like any to play in?

It depends. My pair of clowns are obsessed with their GBTA and rarely leave it. They chase others away from it as well. When I got the toadstool they were curious but they lost that quickly. My toadstool is fairly drab in colour so maybe that's a factor. Give it a try. Clowns will go where they are happy. They are vicious too. When I put my gloved hand in they bite it non stop.
