I ordered a new wet side for my mp40 and now the motor is dead so what should I do get a other mp40 or sell the mp40 and get something else

Love my mp40's. I have had others and i think they are awesome. My tank stays cleaner than it ever has with the flow these guys put out.

The only thing comparable to the Vortechs would be Tunze. People seem to like the Jebaos but with the patent issues and longevity questions I wouldn't want to rely on them. So it's either a new/used MP40 or sell the one you have and get some Tunzes. The wave boxes are pretty sweet.

We just had a club meeting recently with a side by side comparison and the wp didn't even come close. I'm glad they work for a lot people but I REALLY wish people would stop trying to compare them. I know there are lots of people saying they're just as good but after I saw the two perform next to each other I now just get frustrated. There's a reason they're only 25% of the price because they will only perform 25% as well and same with longevity.

Having owned a few, personally can't agree on longevity and Vortech being synonymous, but I do agree that you get what you pay for. The WP's simply haven't been out long enough to form a true opinion. I might try one out though( if they're still avail? I haven't been following that thread) For now I'm still sold on Tunze

Keith, are you sure the motor is dead? What color(s) is the controller showing? I had an issue with one of mine and it was a pump disconnect error.

I'm almost 100 % sure the wet side is dead I feel it come on and go off and never moves and then it starts flashing green and red

Had the same issues once, just had to reset the pump, had a "pump disconnect" issue.

You can send it in to ecotech and get it repair cheaper then a new one. They may even send you a brand new just need to pay for shipping. Ecotech has the best customer support in any business. I brought a use mp40w that was 4 yrs old next thing I know they send me a brand new mp40w es.
Give Scott a call. He will take care of you.

Zef that is what I'm going to do and see what they say and do
