Ok so I have been researching LEDs for a while now and really think the AI SOL is an awesome fixture! I currently have a 30g with a Current Sundial Pendant over it. It has 150watt DE 14k Phoenix and 2x32 watt pcs for actinic lighting. I have a couple questions about the SOL: 1. Will I still get good growth from zoas with the SOL compared to the 150 watt MH? 2. I had a par 38 bulb and it had a weird disco ball effect so does the SOL have any disco ball effect? and lasty can I hang the light horizontally or will that alter anything? Thanks!

1. They will grow better and color up more.2 time to put away your bell bottom pants cuz there is much much less disco. 3 what other choice do u have?vertically? Lol I think u mean can u hang it Perpendicular instead of parallel to the tank? If so then yes you can but why? Or you can get the new onyx fixture from rapid led for half the price, more light more colors just no "storm effect"
Hope this helped

We have 2 SOL blues for our 65 gal tank, and the corals seem to love it! We've definitely seen some growth from a few of our corals. If you mount them on the stand, they will only be vertical as opposed to horizontal, but if you have them I think you have the option of either. Im not sure of this disco ball effect, but it gives a shimmery effect to it, which I love.

What I love most about the SOL lights is the wide range of lighting that is available. Good luck on your search!

i have 2 over my 60 cube, replacing a single 400w halide. i was very nervous amount the transition, but my corals grow just as fast and look exactly the same....great!

do it!
