Hey guys,

So i'm thinking about setting up a 30 gallon cube tank similar to my biobcube for an Angler Fish, Was wondering if anyone had any experience
with them?

I am thinking about doing a good rock scape with lots of caves and hiding spots, Am i able to add coral in with him as well?

My local saltwater store has two for sale, and he's trying them with frozen foods right now... Not going to jump onto one right now till the new tank is here and 100% cycled through!

Any pointers that previous owners have with these guys would be great!
Thanks

I have a small black and orange angler in my 29 bio cube. He is great in there, I do have coral and other fish. I even have a clown gobie in there with him and he has not messed with it, now the clown gobbie does not go near him either sooo. Anyways mine eats live ghost shrimp. My LFS carries them so its no big deal for me. I throw about 10 in a week and he fills up and just hangs out. I would go ahead and get it.

im following this cause ive been curious about these little guys also.

Very cool fish!! Your best bet on the shrimp is to set up a small 5 or 10g freshwater tank. With enough in the tank they are prolific breeders. You'll be able to either order them online or through your LFS for well under a buck/per. That way you've got a steady never ending food source. Just some rocks and an air pump is all you need.

I am no expert but I got a frogfish back in February. From everything I read it is much better to get them on frozen asap. It is not only easier but more healthy for the fish. Unless you are gut loading the shrimp I am pretty sure there is not a lot of nutritional value in the ghost shrimp.

Mine took a frozen silverside within hours of him being in the tank and he will eat frozen clams and regular shrimp as well. Just make sure you do not over feed them. I feed mine every ten days.

I have some pics and a video of mine in this thread if interested.

Awesome thanks! I'm trying to get one that's already on frozen, my supplier used to have one that would eat frozen shrimp but of course I didn't have a tank setup then
