Ok im thinking about getting one of these pumps.

Are they worth it? Like abyzz they are spendy little puppies. Lol.
Is something like that worth it to you as a reefer?
I'm a lifer and will most.likely be doing this the rest of my life so I see the worth.
Opinions?
Thanks

Jason Fox Corals uses Panta Rhei and Metal Halide on all his tanks

Thats cool looking. Id get one just for the way it looks. It'd be hard to pass up several tunze 6255 for the same price though.

Ok ppl. I need salt and 2 fluval sp6 pumps for my seaswirls and I'm ready to upgrade.

Its between 4 different flow pumps. Lol.
I currently have an octopulse4 and a mp40.

Thinking of adding or just using mp60, stream3 by tunze, emc63 by panta rhei or an afc150 by abyzz.

I'm using 2 panta rhei ecm42 in my tank.
These pumps aren't comparable with other pumps flow. Flow gets everywhere, where other pumps just have a straight flow pattern.
The only thing I am dissapointed about is I thought they would be death silent but they aren't for me. It's not they're loud or something but in that price range I expected more.
I wouldn't doubt though and go for panta rhei!

In my new system that I am setting up 5x2.5x2' peninsula I have 2x Panta Rhei ECM 42 Hydrowizard PRO. In comparison to my current EcoTech VorTech MP40QD and Maxspect Gyre XF330's I can say the following anecdotally.

- The build quality is next level - exactly as you mentioned like a Abyzz return pump. It just "feels" better.
- With regards to flow, I tested a single ECM 42 in my current 60G cube that I run 2x MP40QD at 60-65% reef crest for a full SPS tank, a single ECM 42 more then covered the flow, infact I would say it had better "random" flow patterns and caused less disturbance to the substrate indicating a more diverse and wide spread of flow.
- Whether you like it or not you are going to have to by the USB adaptor so factor that into your pricing.

I advocate for these, however I know that they are not going to be fore everyone and you are going to pay a premium.

Just remember you need to buy the controller separately or you'll just have a single speed pump. Panta rhei pumps were designed more for long tanks to recreate river type flow for freshwater systems.

I have an ECM 63. Absolute silence. Placement is on the back wall horizontally and the pump pushes flow across 6' at 60% power. I have not needed to take the pump out for maintenance in the 2 years this pump has been running.
