I have been testing Alk nightly for months. It tests at 8.0 and using the reef calculator I dose Seachem Reef Builder to 8.20, exactly 1/2 a teaspoon. Over last week, I have had to increase my dose to about 3/4 teaspoon. I think my 27 acro frags are starting to grow! My question is, should I start Kalk? Will the Kalk "lock-in" my numbers so that I won't have to dose alk so frequently? I have never dosed Kalk. I would be mixing it in my 5g bucket of RO water. I read that it's hard on the skin so maybe I don't want to dip a pint glass into the bucket nightly. As you can imagine, I am paranoid that I am going to smoke all my frags because I don't have a clue how much to dose. I have read the articles and it is hard to make sense for me. Science wasn't my best subject.
