Hey guys I have been keeping fish for about 20 years now. Mostly Cichlids and we converted our community tank into a plant tank a few months ago. My husband and I have really wanted to do a reef for a while but we don't really have good shops in our area. So we are looking to start a ten gallon coral tank soon. Eventually we plan to have a custom build 80 gallon build in (been getting prices and doing the research). Hopefully when we get around to a custom tank we will be up to the salty challenge. I really miss the one my dad kept when I was a kid.

For now we have a 55 gallon cichlid tank and 55 gallon plant tank, and a very empty ten gallon taking up space in the shed.

Nice to meet everyone I will be stalking the forum to glean information.

Welcome to R2R. 10 gal tank is challenging because of the small volumn of water and you have limited choice of inhabitants and require more maintance then a large tank.

Welcome!! Great to have you as part of the community

Thanks everyone. We have lights and some other stuff in the mail.

*Welcome to Reef2Reef, kaos14 !* I started this hobby with a 10 gallon cube myself.I tested water parameters frequently and changed the water once a week.I believe this kept the system healthy while I waited for a upgrade.
