Thinking hydroids and possible gluing

Just got back from a trip and looking for some input. Think these are hydroids on the sock. If so, or whatever it is, encapsulate it in glue? Never glued that close to polyp and bit jet lagged so appreciate the input in advance. Apologies for the pics hard to get clear shot being so small w/ phone. Tentacle is solid opaque whitish just pixelated in pic.

Agreed on hydroids... Not sure about the glue though. Might work, same with epoxy. Others may have a better answer for you. Best of luck
