I use a DIY reactor that keeps 2 gallons of saturated solution mixed up. ATO water is dosed into the bottom of the reactor for a few seconds 24 times a day and the saturated solution drips out the top into a return section in the sump where a secondary PH probe measures the PH spike which lasts about 5 minutes (no spike - time to fill the reactor). The daily dose meets at best 80% of my tanks evaporation. Once a day a level sensor and ATO pump gets activated and tops up the +20 % of makeup not looked after by the kalk dosing. I add a cup of Kalk powder to the reactor once a month. Minor adjustments have been made over the years but pretty much runs without a lot attention. (100g - soft and LPS)

I use two part and Kalk stirrer on dosing pumps not ATO and have found this combo to be best for maintaining stable parameters. I have also used calcium reactor and Kalk stirrer and found the calcium reactor was more difficult to maintain long term stable for me. I probably won't go back to calcium reactor unless I get a giant tank that makes two part and Kalk combo unrealistic to keep up with demand.
