Thinking of adding more Wrasses, what should I get?

I'm thinking of adding some more Wrasses to my 210g. I currently have a male Hawaiian Flame, female Solar Wrasse, and a Yellow Coris. What can I add that would be under say $100 that would add color and fit in well with the Wrasses that I already have?

I have a Christmas, Melanarus, Leopard along with a Solar Wrasse that all get along fine in my 210. Any of those are peaceful enough. A Lubbocks fairy wrasse would also be a great addition.

Hmm, I've had a Melaranus a few years ago and it seems that I had issues with him, I forget what though. Maybe he was picking on my clams....

melanarus will pick at clams especially if they can get under it to the foot. they may also go ninga on your inverts. Leopard wrasses are great. Lubbucks fairy wrasses are nice or a nice flasher wrasse.

Melanarus wrasse is going to have similar behavior as your yellow coris wrasse

Couple of these are a little pricier than you mentioned but if you don't mind waiting on juvi/females to grow you can get good deals. With your current group I'd do orange back, Labouti and hooded maybe (with a little concern to your flame) an Eightline flasher. All amazing fish with a bold attitude (similar to your current residents)that can be found cheaper as females. I also think you would like a radiant too. I could go all day though, I love them all.

The Yellow Coris has been a sweeheart.

I'll look into the others and see what I come up with, I've always loved the Leopards but I have never had any good luck with them. The couple that I've tried usually only last a few days and then perish.

FWIW I'm kinda thinking of getting a female Flame and possibly a male Solar. I bought the female Solar hoping it would change but it hasn't and I've had it quite a while now.

A male solar would be a good choice. I really like them. I have heard of too many problems with female flames not staying female even when a male is present.

IME.....Melaranus become very territorial and aggressive towards other wrasse.......NEVER again in my book. Leopard, mystery, maybe add some female flames.

Mystery wrasses are even worse when it comes to being territorial and female flames pretty much never stay females.

Mystery and sixline wrasses are just outright NASTY, I'll never put one in a tank i own again. Adding any wrasses after it is pretty much impossible.

If you were willing to up your ante a little...a golden rhomboid would be killer! I love leopards...but as you said, they are difficult to get a good/healthy one. If you are persistent, they are awesome additions. I have a potters that I love...great personality and has sort of paired with my potters angel. They follow each other around most of the day picking at rocks.
