As the title suggests, I have seriously looking to change to a Gyre if some sorts! Right now I run two MP40 in the back wall and although they are fine, I think I could do better!

ideally I would like a Gyre that can be run via an APEX or something with a wireless controller.

what would your folks suggest! I don’t have a budget, I’d just like the best flow I can get .

Love my IceCap gyre! It’s in my 40 cube and at 10% opposing flows it moves a ton of water. Oh and it’s dead silent.

Have any of you folks changed from MP-xx to a Gyre?
I did. Then went back to MP 40 and 60. i was using the older 250 gyre model. Great flow but too noisy for me. I hear the new ones are quieter though. I also did not like the wires inside my tank. This made maintenance more difficult for me as I have screens over my tank so my wrasses don’t jump out.

Yeah the wires are gonna be a problem!

I had an XF 230 and went to two XF 330s, the 230 was quiet but the 330s are dead silent even when they haven’t been cleaned.

I thought about switching at one point but then just doubled down on MP40s. I have 4 in my RedSea 625.

Flow is what you make it. I don’t like the back wall mount concept. Having my pumps on the short ends really moves allot of water. I alternate flow patterns to keep it somewhat randomly moving water around.
