I’ve been a bit out of the animal/aquarium hobby for a bit since a pet randomly died.ot wanting to get rid of my tank but needing some change.

It’s currently a 40 gallon display with a 20 gallon sump.

I was thinking of downgrading the tank, either going to a 20 gallon tank with a hob or a fluval flex 32 only thing is the 20 gallon would at best cost me $70 just under. If I got the flex I’d bargain for $200-250.

just looking for thoughts to get thrown out there on these ideas.

I think you’re better off staying with the set up you have. Right now at least you have a sump to run normal filtration options. Plus you’re not really saving $$. If you were going from a 180 gallon set up to a 20-30 gallon set up maybe I could see it but in your situation you’re not saving much. I would wait and think on it for awhile. What is your motivation to go to one of the smaller options?
