Hello everyone!
I recently had a small tank crash and lost 3 fish, as well as my Ricordea coral due to some changes I made to combat cyanobacteria.
I am pretty much done dealing with the aftermath of the crash, and my xenia corals may or may not recover. Now the question is, where to go from here? I am not going to add anything new until I have dealt with the cyanobacteria, but I have made good progress on it so far. I have a 75-gallon tank, and the current fishes are 3 pajama cardinals, a blue neon goby, and an orchid dottyback. I also have a few not-so-good looking xenia corals (They seem to be on the road to recovery, but you never know) and about 3 hermit crabs. The tank is approximately 2 years old now, and I do want to try coral again, but I also want to add some hardy invertebrates, and of course, fishes! For fishes, I think I want to add a new pair of clownfish to replace the ones that died during the crash, and one or two more hardy fish, but I don't know what I can add that won't fight with the clownfish or get picked on by the dottyback. The fish need but two requirements: hardiness and being captive bred. As for inverts, I will probably get more hermit crabs, as well as a serpent star. For corals, I have just had bad luck so far with Blastos, Mushrooms, Duncans, and a brain coral which was kind of obscure. The Xenia have done better than anything else so far. The mushrooms and Ricordea did reproduce some, but I got lazy and the tank declined over the summer. The one coral I do want to add is a toadstool leather if nothing else. Does my tank have a bright enough light for one? I have a dual T5 HO fixture from Current USA, as well as an Orbit Marine LED (I know, these LEDs are bad). This is quite the wall of text, I know. Should I make separate threads?
Thank you!
