Thinking of getting ten gallon tank

I am thinking of getting a ten gallon tank to start as a minitank for saltwater fish. I am stuck at home for the time being. I am unable to go to a store to pick up the tank. I am looking at options for companies that can deliver the tank. I am looking at a site called Chewy for the aquarium. I live in NC if that matters.

I give you permission to go to any pet store near you that is open and get the tank today. We all need something to do while under lock-down.

We've used Chewy for pet toys and food and they delivered ok if you have too. GL

Problem is I have no car. I do have a twenty high and a 55 available to me, though. The 55 needs cleaning and a spot found for it, though. The twenty high has another problem, two goldfish call it home and do not want to be rehomed.)
I have a desk available for a tank though.
Thinking things through I came up with some options.
1)I can let the goldfish be in the twenty high and get a ten gallon tank for the saltwater fish.
2 and 3) get help with cleaning the 55 gallon tank, and either2) set it up for salt water and keep goldies in 20 high or 3) move goldies to 55 and use 20 high for saltwater.
4 and 5) get a ten gallon tank for quarantine, use either 4) 20 high for goldies and 5 for salt or 5) goldies move to 55 gallon tank and 20 high becomes salt water.
6) forget saltwater fish and just stick with goldfish in 20 high or 7) move the goldfish into the cleaned up 55 and use 20 a a quarantine tank for new goldfish.

of course everything has to be in my room. I doubt anyone will let me set up a tank in the common area of my home.

What’s the plan for filtration? You also have to take into account frequent water changes needed to run a nano tank. You can use tap water but it will need to be at least dechlorinated, you also will probably run into a lot of issues with algae, Dino’s etc due to phosphates and other minerals in tap water. If you can get a line on a shop to pick up RODI water that would be ideal. You’ll have less swings in your levels the bigger you go, so if possible the 55 would be ideal for salt but the 20 would be sufficient as well. Hope this little bit helps.

imo that is a good start for a 10 gallon. I'm just getting into the hobby as well and have a 45 gallon but if i were to get a 10 gallon thats what i would get...
