I have been dosing BRS 2 part for 3 years now and I can never seem to get it right, I will run out of one of the powders and have plenty of the other one, my levels will get out of whack, the alk line will clog, and several other issues. I have a relatively low demand so I’m thinking of going with just a simple Kalk in my ATO. I also have a PH probe connected to my controller to shut off my dosing pump if PH goes high from alk dosing. So what are some real world concerns besides PH spike using Kalk? Do I need to wash out my ATO container each re fill? I use 7 gallon water jugs for my Top off water with a pickup tube does it need a power head to keep mixing? I would love a calcium reactor but it’s not in the budget.

Would it be better to mix up a batch of Kalk and drip it from my doser or is the ATO better?
That’s how I dose it, it doesn’t have to be cleaned every refill, but about every 6 months I do clean it. Also kalk lines can clog up as well so some people y their ato in to flush the tubing out.

My alk line from my doser would clog also so that was my solution I connected my ATO into the line to keep it flushed. I use clear bottles for alk and calc so if is re used those I would be able to see. Just curious how do you have your doser set for the limewater?

I use my apex to cycle it on every hour, I used the dosing calculator to start with and slowly adjusted my rate until I got a balance with my alkalinity
