Third time better be the charm

“Actually a flying panda” always cracks me up. That’s what we call them now. :grinning-squinting-face:

Thank you for this list. I see everything on here and I flee from yellow jackets. Cicada and dirt dauber, like to fly around my sons little pool. It terrifies me they are going to sting him. They are just after a drink of water. But, I'm highly allergic. I don't want my son having the same reactions I get.

I'm luck and not allergic but I still have epi pens in the house jic.

Well, I am sure you heard, bees are classified as fish in California.
I saw that and I still don't get the logic. Maybe Lost had something to do with that.

Neither do I. Bees can be put on the endangered and protected list just like with any fish/coral species. Ask Florida. I can't recall the name of the fish, resembles a snakehead. For years it was illegal to catch. Not sure of the current status, because I forget name.

Frag/QT tank is up and running. Water salt light lid sump heater. All done. Gonna let it run overnight be sure all is good. Check the salinity tomorrow. Then clean off the rock that's in the rubbermaid, got some gha going on, and drop it in. Dose some ammonia and start testing. Hoping I can catch my 3 spot damsel and drop it in eventually. That fish is a big jerk.
Need to find a sea hare for the 180 for the gha as well.

Love me some basement fish rooms. Looks great!!!

Will this be a coral and fish qt? The dual black boxes tell me yes.

What's the plan if you need to use copper on fish?
Yes dual use is the plan. However.... I would like to get the 180 mostly fully stocked first. So it will be a qt tank first and foremost. Maybe a couple frags here or there to help with nutrients. Nothing fancy. Then when the fish are done and the coral has started to fill in the big tank I will swap it out to a frag tank. So hopefully by then if I have used copper I can just replace the rock or any other media that's been used. Tbh (don't hate) I have never qtd anything before so this is all new. But I am looking g at some high dollar (to me) fish and last thing I want is to kill them all.
Does that make sense?

What's going on in that giant brute stock tank?
That's a rubbemaid 100g I used / am still using for a holding tank from my upgrade. Stuff is getting transferred over to the fraqt eventually then I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it.

Sorry I clearly need to actually read through your build thread.

Looks HUGE in the photo. I use 50g rubbermaid stock tanks for my sump and frag. I was thinking that was a 150g at least.

Haha. Reading through your build thread now too! Thought about using it as a sump but wasn't to keen on the idea. Not sure why though. I am sure I'll find another use for it eventually.

I made it to page 11. I'll try and pick it back up tomorrow. =)

Yes it does.

A thing to consider. That rock will be your primary bio filter. If you have to pull it, you'll want a lot of non calcerous media, already cycled and ready to go. Qt fish need FED. honestly I feed more in qt than in the display. They need it.

Why don't I get alerts to all the build threads I am following. It would be nice so I can follow (stalk) everyone i want.
