Third time better be the charm

Seriously? Out my front window again.

I lost my birdsnest last night to rtn/since. I noticed it yesterday before I went to bed and this morning it was 90% gone so I took it out and put it in my office tank. It's lost more tissue today. Not sure what happened. Tested ans po/ni are low .018 po and 2 no. Ph low 7.7. Dosed both no and po and house has been open and skimmer running without the collection cup. Not sure how they got this way as I have been feeding very heavy since the new fish came in 2 wks maybe. Prazi isn't supposed to affect levels as far as I know. None of the other corals have been affected. I thought birdsnest were an easy sps? I have had this one for a while now so i am really stumped. Did a small water change but I don't think it was enough to change anything. Will test again tomorrow am to see.

Birdsnest are easy but I've also read they're almost more susceptible to RTN than Acros once established. No clue. I barely got my first BN to live recently.

I have 2 other "colors" on the tank and they "seem" fine. No indication of any tissue loss. Making some more water tonight for a larger change on Wednesday.

Hmm anything else shift?

Low nutrients but not zero. Well could've been with testing error. I feel like you would've noticed it upset before tissue necrosis:/ from nutrients being low.

Reminds me of when my huge ball of poccilopora split.. 325 calcium for me lol..

Increased the blue lights. Added an hour in the morning and increased intensity during the 4 hrs of peak time from 70 to 80%

She kicked me outta here since Friday...
Back now, not sure about birdsnest ,but keep close eye on other 2 colonies...;):)

Low levels continue. Ph 7.8 po 10 aka .031 and maybe a 2 in nitrate but I think that's wishful thinking tbh. Have no clue what may be impacting it. Unless the smoke from the fires in Canada? Air quality here is crazy terrible. Almost like fog but smells like a campfire. No rain today either. Would think if that was the case I would see the same thing in the office tank but I don't. Water change tonight, continue to dose po and up the dose of ni. Not sure what to do about the pH. Will test again tonight.
Not the kits as I used the same ones to test the office and results were on different.

are you checking ph at same time everytime ?
stop waterchanges ,let nutrients rise ?
Don't listen to me btw...;):)

Normally I do check same time. We'd am. But the last time, when I noticed something was off it was sat evening. That's what I thought made the difference. But I tested this am (like normal) and it was still off. Not as much but enough. I usually rum 8-8.15. This was barely 8. More worried about why the nutrients took a dive. They had been consistently high to normal (for me) now I can't keep them up. (No dont) I have been feeding more then normal, no socks, no skimmer. Growth has been better then average but not crazy. May send out a test to see what the real #'s are. At least to confirm. Only reason I was considering a water change was the prazi dose last Monday. So it's been the 8 days and it's due per instructions.

are you running fuge light at night ?

I wouldn't take out yet, unless an abundance, cut back light on fuge by a couple hrs first, run a sock or even better a cup with floss let it get real dirty before changing...:)
