Didnt know where to ask this but posted Im trying to get back to having a reef tank. Was looking for an AIO and found a 32 gallon biocube with the LED lighting on craigslist. Comes with a clown, banghi cardinal, blenny/pistol shrimp, coral banded and some peppermint shrimp. Some easy corals, 20lb of rock, jabeo wave maker, heater, skimmer, rodi unit, lots of salt and other chemicals. Says its been running for 2 years. Asking $400 seemed reasonable to me but wanted opinions thanks

Additional questions to ask would be how long had he had the LED and how long is it on daily. What skimmer? What heater? What RODI and how long ago were membranes replaced?
Not a bad price for everything but you are kinda stuck with someone else's tank. My love for the hobby involved picking out my fish, equipment, aquascape and doing research.

The leds are the factory ones in the biocube hood. Said the filters will need replaced on the rodi soon. I agree with picking out my own stuff, at least I did want a clown and cardinal. Just on a budget and cheapest empty one I can find is around 250-300 and Id have to buy everything else.

And all the green stuff is macro algae, he has it in the display instead of a sump

Not a great price imo. $250 is more spot on. Chances are you will need all new test kits and filters for the rodi. Not much live stock included. I sold a 75g sps reef that was running for 2 years and was an upgraded from an over grown 40g that was 4 years old. It was full of large coral colonies, clams, inverts, sump, skimmer, mh lights, fish, controller, ato, basically a mature turn key system for $750.

I agree that it is probably worth $200. I would ask the buyer if they'd that -- a lot of people just want to sell :)

I'd like to see it for around 200 as well but tbh if you buy that for 400 you'd still be saving alot of $ compared to buying all of that equiptment new... Any idea how long his ad has been up? Maybe he's ready to sell cheaper. Side note, I've had people send me a picture of the cash before, it annoyed me/was kinda funny.

Ad has been up for 3 weeks, was asking $600 initially, did say hes trying to get rid of it because he's moving soon. I agree Id love to get it for $200, guess it cant hurt to ask maybes hes desperate.

Before you buy, double check Offerup, R2R, local forums, Craigslist again, etc. -- you can always find good deals, especially in areas with a lot of reefers.

I'd send them a low offer and if they don't take it, try again from a different phone :) That's always worked for me!

Thanks, unfortunately theres not much out there within 2 hours of me. 2 other empty bare biocubes asking 300 and 250. Nothing on any local forums or r2r. Ill keep looking
