Dang snails are sitting on the slats for the overflow and slowing the water to the rear chamber of my Nuvo 20. This causes my ATO to turn on for 5-10 seconds. A minute or two later the snail moves and more water moves to the rear chamber turning on the alarm for the ATO overfill. Has this happened to anyone?

IM makes a cover/grate that snaps on over the slats. Go to their website, it's under equipment and upgrades. They call it "fish guard overflow protector". Comes in 2 sizes so make sure you get the correct one.

Maybe an electrical delay or a controller delay for the ATO.
I power my ATO via.Apex.and set it to run only 20 sec every 6 hours.

Also can u change your overflow screen to a wider teeth one so a snail or some algae don't cause this.

good advice above.. I would agree on the overflow guard as being a simple solution

If all else fails your first thoughts might be appropriate ;)

Mine have not. But I have two that are huge! They can even move rocks. But mine are in one of my display tanks. No pretty corals in there for them to kill either. I enjoy watching them when the lights first go out. Good luck, hopefully you don't have to eat them. :p
