I just don't have the heart to kill this guy if he's innocent. I found him in the old tank that I am finally tearing apart and don't know if I can safely put him in the sump of my seahorse tank or not. I know they do some great clean up and sand sifting, but if this is one of the "bad" ones, I'm going to have to destroy him. Hell, I don't even like killing ants!

Looks more like a fireworm. Could do some damage to you if you are not careful. Not sure about in a seahorse tank. Maybe someone will chime in about them specifically.

That's my hesitation: bristleworm (good) or fireworm (bad). I think I'm going to put him and his brother (found another one) in the refugium..... that way they can't hurt anything in the main tank if they're bad. Of course, they can hurt ME when I'm planting plants in the fuge!

Weather it's a bristle or fire worm at that size they can do some damage. Best to let him go. if theres one that size theres more. And a ton of little ones.

Next time that you make a picture of creatures that you need an ID for please put in a container with water , it is easier to make the id. But I am still convinced it is Bristleworm .

It doesn't look good but I'm new... Yikes

Sorry, took these pics before I saw your suggestion about putting them in water.... this is them inside the plastic bag. I think I need to keep them out of my new tank. Is there a humane way to kill them? Freezer?
