I think that might be be a copepod? If he is copepod, he is a firend

Picture isn’t very clear but I’m seeing big black eyes that look like a cirolanid isopod. It’s a parasite that attaches to fish.

You can net it or slurp it out with a turkey baster. I’ll email you an article about trapping, can’t seem to attach the link here.

Almost got him last night. I think there's only one as it's the same one I've seen before. I have a wrasse inbound next week. Yellow banded possum wrasse. I also want a leopard wrasse as well. Should I get a cleaner wrasse to destroy these critters?

the YPW might go for it as it eats pods. elapsed might go for it too. no real guarantee

Cleaner wrasse got super small mouths and that looks bigger than a cleaner wrasses actual mouth is,but pictures can be deceiving on size.
Look up Ciroland isopod and spaemathorie isopod.wait that's 100% not correct spelling lol

Here a id on them to tell apart, will leave my spelling in above post just for giggles lol

yeah , you are right. the isopod is kinda big. I would say he's about half a cm. I will have to be creative or quick to catch it. Article link below

What I remember about ciroland isopods is you need to manual remove them when see them and even read articles saying use a fish in tank for them to attach then catch fish and remove, but then see some isopods going in the gills and even some that eat the tongue and then become the fishes tongue itself so this method doesnt seem right to me.
But I also read even going fallow won't eradicate them as they can eat other things in the tank if no fishes.
Hopefully what you got is the isopod that I couldn't spell ha ha as these if remember correctly can be beneficial to the tank ( if its even an isopod you got.
But with thread I shared and article you shared ,sure there plenty info on trapping them one by one if needed.

Good luck

I have 8 days to catch this thing lol. I have fish coming from TSM Aquatics and dont want that thing around. Worse case this thing attaches to my fish and i net both out? Does it stay attached to the fish? according to the article the best method to catch the bigger ones is with a bottle trap. I will give that a try
