I was just browsing online yesterday and saw something about a type of snail that leaches off your coral’s health and will eventually kill it, I saw a picture and thought oh crap I recognise that.

How do I remove this little bugger and make sure it never see’s the light of day again? Also, what is all this crap that’s on the plug of my finger leather?

Attached are pictures of the finger leather frag plug, and also it’s general health just in case it looks like I should be doing something drastic.

Yes- Vermetid snail - no good. With a pliers, break off at base and discard OR place a dab of gel super glue from dollar store over the hole and it will starve and die

crush into bits, and suck out with a baster. or remove the whole rock if you can, and break it off, and wash out with saltwater. those things will end up in your tank no matter what, just cant let them go crazy.

I have reef safe glue, if I cover the hole with the reef glue will that have the same effect?

they will and can dig their way out, so its best to remove them entirely, you have to treat it like its aptasia, no matter what they find a way back into your tank.

So I’ve managed to remove the snail, woo! Leather is looking a little sad from working on him, but doing better now.

Can anyone tell me what this weird tumour like growth is in the bottom right side of the base? Unsure if it’s part of the leather, or the plug, or a weird creature.

Thanks!
