Hi friends,

Last week my wife gives me a chorale, she knows even less than I do not remember corals and what was the name he was told in the aquarium where he sold the coral.

It seems to me that is a Goniopora, but I'm not sure because I have always believed that the polyp grows as about 2 or 3 inches, in the case of mine I only see that grow around 1/2 "to much.

Then why not sure that really be a Goniopora, and if that type of Goniopora is?

I'm pretty sure it's goniopora or alveopora. Specific species I have no idea.

Sorry friend, i don´t understand. It is Goniopora or Alveopora?

Goniopora have 24 tentacles I think

Alveopora have 12.

Counting will be the only way to figure out what you have but its too blurry for me with my already bad eyesight to help

That is a goniopora, It should extend out when it's happy.
This is alveopora;

An orange goniopora; it doesn't extend like the goniopora that you have.

lol I'm half blind.

Well, I counted the small tentacles coming out of large polyp and I could not tell the exact number, but if I counted many more than 12. Then surely Gonipora.

But then I wonder why the polyp does not extend well? be it by the kind of Goniopora.

The tips of each polyp in mine are round, at least so far. The Orage Gonipora your uploaded photo, they look like pointy

Give it time. It should extend. This species is the one a lot of people have a hard time with long term. I don't know why, but I'm sure someone will chime in.[emoji106]

I was noticing that the tips were rounded, but numerous, so I think it's a goniopora .

Ok, perfect.

I'll give time to see how thats react, I have it since last Thursday evening hours. I have given food and only 1 time and today I have to feed again.

With that feed you?
