ok I can’t get a good pic of this thing but I have something maybe 5mm in dia that is at the base of a rock, trumpet shaped, maybe like almost translucent yellow/orange/green. It’s smooth in texture, and not bumpy like a mushroom.

When I first noticed it, I went to remove it and it immediately retracted. It doesn’t have appendages like an anemone. It mostly resembles a mushroom but smooth in texture

Thanks, I’ll try to get one, but the reason I havent is because it’s not a direct view from the side of the tank…it’s a peninsula, and from the far end, you can barely see it. But I’ll see what I can come up with

Ok I took a couple of shots. Really can’t see in the pics but this thing does have dots on it, so I’m wondering if it’s a mushroom. I do have another small one growing in another area of the tank.

It’s just odd because it will close up and unable to be seen if touched or when the lights start ramping down

They can hitchhike in on rock and coral... They are very tiny at first

Thanks, never heard of one but I'm thinking that's what it is now. I've never seen a mushroom react the way this thing does when stimulated. It will actually close up and disappear
