Sorry I have been away for a bit. I turned my flow as well, but honestly starting to think I need more powerheads to create more flow. I did the tests with the shaking it up in a tube and peroxide. No snotty mess, and no reaction with peroxide. It does appear to go away a bit at night, but not much to be honest. I think I will be adding more powerheads soon

This sounds a lot more like diatoms then. More flow could help, but they have a dependency on Si – that dependency is where you should focus. Si almost always comes from tap water, so double-check your RODI water.
More powerheads and more CUC!
The other thing about diatoms is that EVERYONE on the CUC usually loves to eat them. But diatoms can reproduce at a HIGH rate when conditions are right...so it may be hard to tell where the CUC has been if there aren't enough of them to cover and re-cover ground as needed.
