So I’ve been watching videos all day about dry rock and all that. So I tested my water to see if I needed to add bacteria and anything and here are the results.
ammonia-1.0ppm
Nitrite-about 5.0ppm
Nitrate-20ppm
I’ve been reading and watching videos on it and they say that high ammonia and nitrite level are good for the dry rock at this time but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you to everyone helping it really means a lot

Bacteria may help your cycle but everything looks fine. When your nitrite begins to drop then you should be nearing the end of your cycle. When your tank can clear 2 ppm of ammonia and nitrites to zero in 24hrs, your good to go.

Adding bacteria in a bottle can’t hurt and it works to cycle faster, but yes numbers look good. Only really care about ammonia.
