This is just an extra mushroom right?

Noticed him when inspecting, assumed it was just a closed mushroom that tagged along. Now that it's opened up want to double check


The small brown one to the right. Just wanted to double check it isn't some pest I should immediately rip out

Hard to tell from the picture but it almost looks like a paly head.

The shroom will of been on the right side at a guess and its moved to the middle, leaving some foot that has turned into a new shroom. Just like it has done with a few of mine.

I couldn't find any "shroom looking pest", but just wanted confirmation I'm not growing a shroom version of aptasia I didn't know about

Doesnt look like a pest, I believe its a baby mushroom.

It does look a common brown pesky Palythoa as any baby mushroom usually show the same colour as it's mother colony.

with the clear looking stalk, id say a mushroom. OP if you can get a closer pic of it we will be able to tell 100%.

When new mushrooms start growing in my wife's tank they have no color. You should know in a couple weeks.

Some of my new leafs are brown or white, then the light brings the colour out. Its probably brown because it was covered by the other one. Now that one has moved more giving it space.

The baby VDM in my photo above is about a month old, it only started to turn pink last week
