The Carpetsma aquarium thermometer is a very interesting new temperature measuring device that we’re starting to add to every tank and system in the Reef Builders Studio. If there’s one aquarium accessory that gets even less attention that heaters, it’s the thermometers that readout the actual aquarium temperature. It’s easy to get caught up by all […]

Hey Jake!! I have had a few of those and while they are convenient, I found they always tested a little low, but if you calculate for that, they are nice to have for easy read out. Love the channel. Go Make More Videos!!! LOL

I wish they were a bit smaller, they seem excessively large. Perhaps it's necessary for more accurate readings though.

No, it is just so you can see them from a di\ecent distance very clearly. The sensor is very small and is on the back of the thermometer touching the outside of the glass

I have owned one. One drawback is you cannot bring a magfloat/cleaner over it (it is not designed to removed and reapplied) since the reader sits on top of the glass by about a 1/4" or so. Water that drops down the front of the glass can get behind the thermometer display. I also found the temperature to be about a degree off based on testing using two other thermometers. I do like the large display and the ability to set visual alarms that make the number flash. My original battery ran out within about a month although it does come with one replacement. I chunked mine in the trash because I didn't like having a dirty square (salt creep, algae on inside) on my aquarium glass all the time.

*Edit.. Also you can see the white strip that sticks to the glass to read the temperature when you look inside the tank. It is 1 1/2" wide and 1/2" or so tall and is quite noticeable.
