Okay so my tank is a little over 2 months old. Started with live sand, dry rock, and bottle bacteria. Have a few fish, snails, and 20 frags. A couple weeks ago rocks started getting color to them almost like a light rust color which then went to green and then it really took off covering all the rocks where the majority of light hit. I tried brushing it off with a very stiff bristled brush but it wont take any of it off like at all. I've read that this could just be an indication that tank is starting to mature which will eventually be followed by coraline. All coral are in good condition and growing so I pretty much wanna say its just part of the ugly stage but wanted some reassurance from others on the subject.
Parameters are as follows:
Alk 8.0
Cal 425
Mag 1300
No3 10ppm
Po4 .1ppm
Temp 77.4
Took pictures at night with tank lights off and living room lights on for best image of it.

Definitely a case of the ugly phase ;)

This is when some add a UV or other methods of removal....Others just wait it out lol
I actually have a UV light that should be here next week sometime, wanted one on hand just in case I would ever need it for other reasons. I was pretty sure it was the ugly phase when I couldnt brush it off the rocks even with a stiff brush.

I'd add some mature live Rock, even if it's just some rubble. Better if it's got some Coraline growing on it. Helps.
