This is probably a common sump question

I willing to bet you have thought of this before but I have never seen any one ask in recent memory. In my 75 gallon DT I want to replace my sump. Does any one know what size sump will fit through the door? Or do people break down the tank and take the tank off the stand. If I go that route I might as well increase the size of the tank and really start over. haha. However the tank is established and I really dont want to do that.
Common sense says a 36 inch sump wont, but 26 maybe? I used a old fish tank I converted to a sump, but baffles have come apart from the silicone.
Anyone every done this?

I would suggest making a mock sump out of cardboard and seeing if you can insert it.

Sump manufacturers post dimensions of their sump. Measure your opening and buy a sump that will fit. I would never break down a tank unless my back was to the wall for some reason. It really is starting over.

I have seen people carefully cut an opening in the side of their stand, add molding and make it a removable panel or door. Then you can just slide the sump in and remove it if you ever need to.
