So... this guy thought it would be cool to pluck this piece of freez-dried krill from one of my Nems after I fed it.

At first, I thought he was trying to eat it, but after a closer look, I realized it is attached above his mouth.

I'm guessing he impaled himself on one of the legs when he bit in.

I'm hoping this will come free, if not, I'll have to net him. That won't be easy in an aquascaped tank.

Has anyone else had such an issue? What did you do?

It will come off naturally. Netting and removing could cause alot of stress. It should come free. I have had something similar and it came off.

He really got himself in a pickle, hu. What a goof. Following to see how this works out.

Update: He was clearly stressing out as the day progressed, so I intervened. Fortunately, with this piece of krill hanging off of his face, he didn't have much agility, so, netting him was relatively easy. I never took him out of the water. I just kept the rim of the net at the water surface to create a pen in which to confine him. Then I reached in, grabbed the krill and let him wiggle his way off. Problem solved and he was happy.
