This Live Rock Is Really Live!

My suggestion is to take the live rock out and pour a little cl u b soda into the holes in the rock. If not, three years from now, you may be tearing your tank down to try to get rid of the 3-4 ft eucinid worm. I was wondering why all of my zoas, mushrooms and acans were disappearing. Good luck!

I don't see the need to do this. Is it live rock and possibly full of hitchhikers? Yes...but why kill the good with the bad? It's really not needed. Until you see a major problem, no need to take this drastic measure. There are other ways of dealing with pests than this.

Yes I would leave it be as well. It's awesome live rock. Deal with hitch-hikers as you encounter them, with exception to pest anemones, flatworms and byropsis, common sense type of thing.

I started my tank with the same live rock, one of my LFS back home sells it. Looked identical to what you have. Only thing I'd watch out for is some crabs, other than that I didn't get any bad hitchhikers. And if You scrape some of the purple coralline off with a file into the tank youl see a lot of coralline algae start spreading.

Good idea, thanks!
