I've bought one of these or similiar in canada as advertised as a lemondrop. It wasnt. It's so hard to say judging from the pics what it is. Is it just a more green/yellow flametip?

Pic of a flametip vs lemondrop.

I think u should check out this site. It’s from a very reputable seller..selling CC LEMON DROP ANENOMES...take a look at their three photos of their lemon drops...this should finally appease those nay sayers who feel the only lemon Drop is the one when u google it ...and might I add u can’t find another pic of that particular speciem other than this

U will note its the same pic but at different angles..(u would think that if this is was the only true lemon drop that there should be more pics exactly as this one)

I would suggest u read the explanation of the criteria for the LEMON DROP as they all are different and are never the same colouring —only splits of a nem will have the exact coloration as the mother.

Those who have stated on here that it HAS to look like the pic when u google a LEMON DROP are WRONG!

If they are all different and never the same colouration perhaps the price than should reflect the colouration. As I personally wouldn't want to spend $899 US on a CC lemondrop for something I paid $150 CAD in canada. In my provided CC pic I dont even really see any green. Price should reflect colouration than and not name, for instance, if your lemondrop looks like this guys youtube lemondrop under whites I would buy it for sure.

My point WAS and STIll is that people on here were commenting that my nems are NOT Lemon Drops...

I paid over 400.00 for my lemon not 150.00..not sure where u got that amount from.

I DO NOT price/nor grade Lemon Drops..If u have an issue with pricing..tar it up with the seller...

I am merely stating that information stated in this particular thread by s few people is INCORRECT.

Everyone who is comparing my nem and all other Lemon Drops to this particular pic is just WRONG!

I wanted to EDUCATE and provide correct information on Lemon Drop Anenomes ...as most people BELIEVE that all Lemon Drops have to look like the above! Which is NOT THE CASE.

Let’s compare the one u provided with the one Cabinetman provided...

Pretty darn close...both have yellow tips which graduate into green. Now let’s also take into consideration the difference in lighting , camera used as well as maturity....

Again, making a blanket statement that
All Lemon Drop Anemones must look a certain way, otherwise, they can’t be is just incorrect!

If its yellow and green it's a lemondrop. It also could morph into orange under different lighting. From what I've read and it could be just talk, a true lemondrop doesnt change its colours under different lighting. Kinda like a black widow nem doesnt change.

If you know it is, don't worry what others are saying.
Ten+ years ago on RC I posted some Paletta Pink Tip frags for sale. Lots of people jumped on saying the coral was extinct and it was a fake. I just said I promise it's real. Then many more posts from others calling me a liar....until Mike posted saying it was real and thanking me for getting a piece of his coral back to him.
Just enjoy your sweet nem and post for sale when you have splits you want to sell. People can buy or not.

Welcome to the name game basically. Over the years I have seen several different anemones being labeled and sold as Lemon Drops. That should not really happen. It's like Colorado Sunburst anemones vs Flame Tip vs Lemon Drop. It's like when folks on here a couple years back were selling sunbursts that were kept under specific lighting to get them to morph to more yellow. It's like the rainbow tenius that look just like JF Homewrecker, but is it correct to call them home wrecker without the lineage back to the source? On the Sunburst marketplace on FB people posts anemones all the time that are wild imports that resemble lemon drops/sunbursts/flametips etc. or just look at the sales forum here and look back through past posts, is any sunburst looking anemone a colorado sunburst anemone? Is any green and yellow anemone a Lemon Drop?

The sales thread from nano-reef is old, Sarah Cohen on the sunburst group on FB has pictures of that same Lemon Drop though, so there certainly are more pictures than the 3 from google images. Also price on "designer" anemones has skyrocketed. That one from nano reefer I could sell for a few grand all day. The one that Salty and the OP has I would buy them all day at $400 to flip for profit. $400 currently might get you a freshly imported wild em that has potential, so $400 for what they are posting is a killer deal as it's a very nice anemone for sure.

Good day all. I'm new to reef2reef. I'm reading this thread and I'm looking for a nice anenome to purchase. Anyone have one with pictures ?
